Bowl & Bone Candy Harness

Dotty and I have been asked to review a matching harness and lead in CANDY grey from Bowl and Bone. As soon as I clicked the link it looked beautiful and definitely something I could see being a lovely addition to Dotty’s pawdrobe. Browsing the sizes I was a little dubious but knowing an extra large was on its way didn’t ponder much more. (Dotty is usually in a large/extra large).

When it arrived, first impressions were great. The box was lovely wrapped with their own logo tape. When I took the harness out the box Dotty’s tail dropped, there was no way this product was fitting over Dotty’s nose let alone to fit comfortably around her neck.

The harness itself feels strong, and not restrictive or rigid. It is very light and is suitable for hand or gentle machine washing.

Due to this harness not being suitable for Dotty we borrowed Sid, a 7 year old Japanese Spitz cross. The harness was still a little tight to go over Sid’s neck and around all his fluff, and because of how it sits around the neck, it went over his collar which seemed like it would be uncomfortable but with the prospect of an extra walk Sid didn’t mind. The harness straps fit brilliant around his chest and he certainly wasn’t opposed to wearing it. The lead itself was a dream with an extra bit of material exactly where your hand holds it so no more lead chaffing on my hands which can sometimes happen with low quality leads. The lead length is 120 cm which is an ideal length to keep your dog close by.

Sid’s neck measures 40 cm and the harness does state that it fits up to a 38 cm neck. Bearing this in mind I would say that the sizes are not what I would typically class as an extra large. This would typically fit a collie sized dog at the largest in my opinion.
